Would not call myself a fan per se but had a hankering for a bronze watch last September so got the IWC Bronze Spitfire.

Bit disappointed with the lume - only the hands and markers at 3, 6, 9 & 12 - but otherwise like it very much.

Impulse bought the Spitfire a couple months ago. The faux patina on only four hour markers annoys the hell out of me.

I am pretty strongly considering picking up the blue Aquatimer. I know it is due for a refresh before to long, but for under $5K on the grey market, it is a pretty good full on tool watch.

I live in the mountains, so everyday life super casual. Even meetings with clients are in my ski pants many days and not sure I will ever put a tie or jacket on again outside of maybe weddings and funerals. I ski, fish and hike a day or two each week during lunch or in between meetings, so I need something robust and waterproof. I love internal bezels, but hate having to use a second crown to set, so the IWC system is perfect for me....as is the size.

It is not like I could find a sub anyhow...I really like the new release with the black face and green bezel, but can't justify the price or energy to find one at MSRP. I also prefer rubber straps and just don't think the sub is worth twice the price.

I don't fully understand this obsession with in house movements and the Aquatimer being less desirable becuase it has an ETA in it. It is still a good movement and has the benefit of being able to be fixed easily by most watch makers. That is a plus in my book!

I'm intrigued by both the BP 43mm and the 41mm Pilot Chrono but two things always stop me from seriously considering either:

1. Removal of the soft iron inner cage (haven't seen anything on magnetic resistance for either model as of yet)

2. That not every hour marker is lumed, drives me nuts

I'm with you. Not having every hour marker lumed is annoying, but I love a lot of the IWC releases.

I believe every market on the Big Pilot 43 is lumed.
