That coaster is awesome, never seen something like that before.
Is the strap crocodile or snake?

Anteater, that's a new one on me, what next, I better not ask.....
Looks very well made and the stitching is perfect. Even the holes for the tang buckle are shaped. You're welcome to disclose who made that fine strap if you wish, its up to you.

Sure I bought it from well know strap maker off the paneristi.com Accessories Corner... his name is HKTAN. He had this one made ready to go, being impatient i snapped it up rather than wait a month for him to make me a Python

Following, a few other nice ones he makes...

Here's a pic of his double ridged horned back alligator....

And here's the python I'd like to get - next time....

Wow those straps are stunning, both in materials and craftmanship
I'm assuming that there isn't any problems bringing these type of reptile skins into Australia.
Tan straps do go nicely with black dials, but all of those straps look great.
Very cool indeed

When Panerai ship in their OEM Alligators etc they sit in Quarantine at Customs for 3 months.

There is risk when buying these leathers that they could get confiscated. As long as the 'sender' fills out the Customs form with 'watch strap' or ' rubber watch strap' or 'horological parts' usually they arrive no worries.

Manufacturers always fill out the Customs form in this manner from experience.

thanks dman... yeh happy with this one, its a beauty. I've also been eyeing off the bony crocs by Walter - are you familiar with them at all?

I also wouldnt mind trying a Hirsch Riva strap... like at 25% of the cost of an OEM Riva (and out of the same factory as OEM) be cool to see what they are like!!!

I had on OEM Riva, very cool. I WILL be picking up a Hirsch model for sure!!!!

Walter straps are super, Simona also has a nice selection, not as exotic, but very cool. I am wearing the Montreal GTG strap on the 190 now.

Thanks for the shipping advice Amanda, that always puzzled me about whether there would be a problem. I guess it's fair to say that the quality, variety and cost of straps available from O.S. is much better than we can get locally.

The GTG strap is very coool indeed, your photo makes it seem a lighter blue than what I saw of Nads one.... is that just the photo lighting or is it a more accurate portrayal of the colour?

I cant wait to try the Hirsch one out... I cant justify the cost of the OEM unfortunately

It is the lights, here is one in action.
notice me "watching" the kids.

The OEM is way overpriced now that we know about the Hirsch.

Well if the manufacturer/dealer/seller wants to continue doing business with us over here, its in the best interest to be a bit more cunning with what they write on the customs forms.

As for straps here in Aus... fuggediboutit... a OEM Alligator for my PAM is $360AUD OUCH OUCH OUCH no way am I outlaying that cash for a strap. When I can get more exotic ones for a third of that from OS.

Wow about those prices I totally agree, I would also not contemplate paying that much for a strap. But about a year ago, I had to get a special strap for my mother's Cartier, to fit the deployant clasp etc. I tried a normal strap and it didn't work. End of the story I paid AUD$220 for 2 skinney black leather strips with "Cartier" embossed on the inside......I just hope they last.

Thanks Amanda
One never knows when a new strap may be needed. I love beautiful quality and exotic leather materials, together with the stitching.
