First try with the new camera>>>>>>>>>

I guess it will be a better result when I have found out all the settings and how to handle this animal.

The shot looks as great as usual Joke, what did you end up buying? I'm considering my first digital SLR, but I'm hoping to win it on the forum if I don't win the sub.

You are going to have a lot less depth of field, or less in focus now that you have gone to a larger sensor camera. It would be nice to have a tilt macro so you could tilt the lens to get more of the image in focus. For example, in your shot posted above, you could tilt the lens and get all of the bezel in focus.

There is a Nikon 85mm tilt/shift lens that came out a few years ago. It focuses to 1:2 and may do the job, but it is quite expensive. If your Nikon dealer is close, you might be able to able to give it a try before buying.

I don't think it is a 300s...He said "animal" so I am thinking a D3S or D3X.

More importantly, what glass are you using?

Great pics as always!!

well you can always edit the EXIF information from the image.. but this is what it says...
So you can see Jocke has not tried the setup date and time menu..

Jocke I don't think it's the camera! The talent is you, I'm sure that you can make this beautiful shots with a $3 disposable point and shoot camera.
I enjoy your work and please keep it up!!

How do you like the 105 f/2.8? I've been wondering if the significant price difference between the 105 and 85 or 60 is worth it (distance from subject excluded).

Wow, Jocke - no matter the camera - really - it's the photographer behind it. You could make any camera sing... But, I for one am pretty excited you have a new toy...
