Code 11.59 Strap Change
For those that own a Code and love to change straps on their timepieces: I would appreciate any tips, recommendations, etc. to make the process easier and safer. In particular, what is the best way/tool to remove the precious metal hex screws holding the strap bar in place?

I have the boutique work on my perpetual. I wouldn’t risk doing on your own frankly.

This one is tricky IMHO. Even boutique has damaged lugs with a slip. Annoyed but having done it myself it is hard to blame.
A few tips: Wooden toothpick useful to get the bar out once screws opened. Make sure the bar is actually inside both screws before tightening. It may not actually be inside the screw even though it is inside the lug if that makes sense. Use one of those watch head holders. |
