1500 Date received today
Hi Gents,
I picked up a b&p Rolex date on oyster bracelet from a gentleman on another popular sales forum. I don't question the man's integrity at all, however I'd like some feedback on how the dial looks. I don't know if it was commonplace, but the serials on head and certificate match and it's a 1968 production per serial number charts online. The case back has I I 70 and clasp has 72. I also see the lume dot at 6 covers word SWISS. What do you think? Is it a redial in a Frankensteined Date or was it common to see a old Rolex like this have a mix mash of parts to it either direct from factory or done over the years it had servicing? Thanks for helping me with questions |

That's a beauty.
I have a very similar looking 1500. Mine is circa 1965. I am missing the original bracelet and am in search of a vintage replacement. What numbers are stamped on your bracelet? I think I need a 7835 19mm with 357 end pieces? |

Looks good to me. I have a 1603 DJ with box and papers. Caseback is 1966, bracelet is March 1967, warranty papers are late 1968. Here's a pic of the dial out of the case.

Here's a close-up of my all original date dial (mid-70s). Like yours, the trit dot partially covers Swiss.
As to the other parts, I think you're ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Everything you described I. Your original post is correct for this watch. Rolex was a bit more slap-ad ash until the 1990s
