AD wanted to send to HSWA to fix but I got a full refund for obvious reasons.

Now I take my time to inspect before I leave the store.

Walked away from a couple this year for QA issues like the ones mentioned here.

This is not a "mistakes can happen" issue. This is a serious problem with quality control and inspection. This dial should never have seen the light of day much less sold at retail. This is the reason I have always advocated against receiving watches which are factory sealed, which so many desire. I want to fully inspect and reject for flaws. Not so much an issue on a dial which can be replaced but marks on the case can be problematic as to just when they were put there if you leave the store with a sealed watch.

The only thing seemingly more extreme is to refer to people as "entitled assholes" for expecting some sort of compensation. Personally, I would absolutely compensate a client in some way for the time spent dealing with the issue, for being without the watch during repair, and simply to demonstrate good will over what one hopes to be a very rare lapse in standards. MUCH better to have a client tell the story of how awesomely he was treated during this incident than have him ramble on about QC issues and lack of satisfaction from my high end sales business.
PP knows better than martinr does, believe me. Don’t let it get to you, there are certain things he doesn’t understand.

Things happen. FatNinja will be taken care of if he asks for it. If he prefers to hold on to instruments of leverage that’s fine too, he’s obviously a hard ass.

But not from doing squats, because he’s Fat.

1) I haven’t explicitly asked for anything...they are aware of the issues

Maybe in the future, the rare straight Tiffany stamp will be the sought-after one. Like an old baseball card that's centered!

I have had a conversation with someone from PP about this exact issue. He told me the watches are supplied to Tiffany un-stamped and they have their own setup there to do so- which varies enormously in accuracy and consistency. Not just in terms of being crooked but also where precisely on the dial they appear.

Sounds highly unlikely, they would potentially be taking grand complications apart to print a dial.

I have read that Henri Stern does it in the US for Tiffany - are there any other Tiffany Patek AD's around the world?

Well, let's think on the bright side: looks like the t-stamp now serves a useful purpose - it alerts the unsuspecting public that a hatchet-jobbed Patek is nearby. :-)

I would 100% keep that thing.

It's like the upside down stamps, or the Air King with the 9 marker at 3, will be worth a fortune in the future.

The stamps are done at HSWA...here is the machine that is used for stamping:

The dial is a sample dial that I was using as a demonstration. You can ask your Tiffany sales if they can set up a visit to see and demo stamping the dial at HSWA.

I think it's only Tiffanys in the US that sells watches other than their own.
