will change their movement 3135 soon?? or will just develop new improvments every couple years?

i mean they hane been using them for a long time. any thoughts?

I think Rolex believes in evolution not revolution. There was an article in WatchTime magazine evaluation the SS Sub compared to one ten or so years old. It seems that Rolex continually upgrades the watch movement.

When you have a rugged, accurate, easily serviced movement with a proven track history you tweak it. You don't replace it with an unknown commodity.

Hans Wilsdorf was the revolutionary. He set out to turn the watch industry on its ear and redefine the entire watch fashion concept, which he was quite successful at.

When the next batch of revolutionaries came along, Rolex found that sticking to tradition was more profitable than chasing new technologies, even though Rolex was a big part of the quartz watch development.

It is evident that Rolex has found a formula that works and that continuous refinement of their products develops the loyal following that Rolex enjoys.

Almost everyone else in the Swiss watch industry now belongs to the Swatch Group or no longer exists.

That designation is already in use with the Datejust II - as far as I know, just a slightly modified 3135 to take advantage of the extra case space
