Inspection help, ebay lsiting

Hello, I would appreciate if someone would refer me to a vintage Rolex jeweler that could authenticate a rolex 6263 paul newman in Los Angeles area. This is in regards to the ebay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/261667875883...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT.

Any help would be appreciated and also If you have any useful information or guidance, I would be grateful.

The dial is buggered. It may be a 'full set' but if the dial is knackered, you're 'investing' a lot in a box and some other stuff, IMHO.

While the dial still looks cool imo , it is damaged. Not only that the lugs are like toothpicks and the springbars stick out. I'd pass as well.

The watch and dial are authentic. Destroyed and fit for the garbage bin, but authentic Rolex nonetheless.

Thank you all for your input. I love these watches but unfortunately I can't afford to pay $220K for them. I thought maybe if I can buy this one for a fair price, I could find a qualified person to do all the necessary repairs.

1.Would refinishing the dial decrease the value of these watches and is it possible for Rolex to refinish the dial?
2. The lugs do seem tapered. Were they shaved at some point? Is this fixable?

Refinished dial has little value n rolex won't touch it. As for the lugs, what's gone is gone. U can try laser welding but i don't have experience with it.

Cool watch, but unless it is well below market, pass. PM Vanessa about the refinishing work. But yes, those lugs are well polished.

The watch has been around a while - doesn't look like it's had much "safe time."

I would send pics to ABC Watchwerks. They can tell you whether it can be brought close to original case specs or not via their polishing work.

Dial is proof that you should not swim with one of these on your wrist. What a shame...

When I clicked on the ebay link at the start of this thread I came across this too at the bottom of the page:

I don't like the look of it: "S" looks like a service bezel, 2s don't. 5s are all wrong etc?

I doubt ebay will take my say-so but is there anything to do about it?

Honestly, if you can't afford the fare for a nice Newman, you should just buy the best standard Daytona you can find. $40K will buy you a real killer, whereas this will be a pathetic excuse of a watch forever. The owner is looking for something north of $100K, by the way (and has been for months). Was offered to me but I wouldn't pay over $45K (and reluctantly at that).

For $40k you can own a killer 6262 that will appreciate over time.

As other mentioned this watch has been offered a few times before.

Damaged is the best way to describe the dial. In this case I don't know if it will decrease the value because a refinished and water damaged dial may be equivalent. A replacement is the only option in my eyes if you wish to restore.

However, I wouldn't want to own any watch with lugs like that. They are so thin that there's barely life left in them. The left lower especially.

I second Michaels opinion and search for a nice non-PN that will appreciate.
