Is this an over-polished 14060M?
Hi!
I'm new to watch collecting, and I was wondering if this is an over-polished watch. I decided to go for the 14060 because of the slimmer profile because the 6 digit subs are just too big on me. Any opinion is very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance! |

I'm no expert when it comes to judging these things, but the edges do look noticeably rounded to me so I would probably pass on this myself.

The edge on the lugs seems round but I am no expert.

It’s certainly been polished, too much for my liking but it’s far from ruined.

I'd say no, looks like more of the lighting and the softness of the image, might have been polished or touched up but I don't think it looks extreme.
I have an F series purchased new from a dealer which has never been polished and I bet if I took photos they would look about the same with the lighting issues making the case look softer from wear and use. |

Doesn't look over polished to me. It has certainly been polished at some stage in its life (and it doesn't look to have been done by Rolex) but then you have to remember that this watch is likely to be in the region of 15 years old. The font on the dial looks a little unusual, but that could just be my eyes/pictures/inexperience with this model. Just make sure that you buy the seller and don't get fixated on price. Good luck.

Polished for sure - ruined? - no. Depends on price. There are better examples out there, but likely more $

Hi, that's my first post in the forum, although I am following for a long time.
I have just wanted to point out that the lugs on the crown side should be thinner than the other side. In normal 5 digit steel rolex sport watches that's the normal. In the above photos, if it's not due the angle the photo was taken, it seems the opposite. So it looks to me that the one side is overpolished. Greetings at all |

The edges are a bit soft, but not excessive. Send it to LAWW or Rolliworks for the next service and they will take care of it.

Just comparing my 1996 14060 (which has never been polished) to the photos I don't think it has been polished at all! For example, the spring bars are still nicely recessed and the lug holes look crisp. If anyone has polished it itīs been done extremely lightly, imo! Looks good...if the price is right for you and you can get some service history then go for it. Itīs a great watch, you won't regret it!

There is nothing that is "overpolished" on this watch.

Looks perfectly fine to me. Makes little to no difference once worn on the wrist.

Doesn't look over-polished to me. Yes, the lug edges are slightly rounded but it looks like there are still remnants of the chamfers.
