Help me pick please! GMT LN VS CHNR
Hi Everyone.
I've been a long time lurker but finally decided to make an account so I can get some help on my current dilemma. Currently in my collection I have, a GMT ii LN, PEPSI C, YG DD Black Dial, and a SKY D STEEL BLACK DIAL. I was fortunate enough to purchase a Rootbeer CHRN from my AD recently, however, I will need to make room in my GMT collection for it. I am thinking of replacing my GMT ii LN with the Rootbeer, but having a hard time making the decision. The LN is my first Rolex but the rootbeer is beautiful and brand new. Please help me out! Thanks! |

I was fortunate to acquire a brand NOS GMT Master II LN a few months ago. Beautiful ceramic bezel, solid bracelet, runs perfectly, mine isn't going anywhere.

Oh, heck no. Don't give up your classic GMT LN for a brown watch. You will regret that.

I am biased, but I love my CHNR. Perfect situation would be if you could keep both, but you have will have to do some soul searching as to which one you can see yourself parting with.

I might be in the minority but based on your collection I would drop the LN if it’s a choice between that and a CHNR. I’ve owned both at one time but currently only have the CHNR.

CHNR any day. It’s the most beautiful of the GMT models (I’m biased).

I have both as well as other GMT’s like Pepsi and Cokes.
The CHNR is a beautiful watch. Probably one of Rolex most beautiful watches ever made and in lots of ways it surpasses the desirability of the Pepsi, I love my CHNR. However, I would never sell the LN. It’s my daily. There’s a romantic notion here amongst WIS and wanna be pilots that the Only GMT must have are the multi-coloured bezel variety’s, which is strange, because being an experienced airline skipper myself over the last 22+ years, myself and all my colleagues I know wear LN’s. The LN is the best practical all round GMT by far. Don’t sell yours. Just add the CHNR. |

CHNR over LN anytime, not even a comparison and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. You have a Pepsi for a beater and don't need another.

Both are good to have in collection so keep LN and wait until you're ready for a new Rootbeer without trading.

They differ enough to coexist. If I had to choose keep the CHNR.
Most beautiful GMT ever made

Keep them both. If the LN is dear to you, you will regret selling it. Plus, it's a classic.

Gotta have a pic to show show it best...I bought the LN when we still have discounts and all steel sports models were readily available at ADs, and given a heavier discount at greys. I chose this over the BLNR and till today have zero regrets. I have many different brand of GMT watches...from Ball, to Seiko, to GS to Omegas. And this is the most functional and easy to read, dress up or down. Easy to adjust and tough as nails from the beach to the pool to the ballroom... Keep the LN...the CHNR is a different enough watch to justify having two Rolex GMT in your collection. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I would drop the LN, the Sky-D with the black dial ticks the box that the LN takes.

The LN was a nice piece which I enjoyed.
However the CHNR is something else-a class of it’s own. Without doubt it’s a future classic! |

The CHNR is beautiful. Add if possible. You'd likely regret moving the classic LN and your first.

I would only add the CHNR. If it required letting go of the LN, I wouldn't acquire the CHNR.
