New Arrival (Thanks to Alan aka dra144)
Here's my "first Panerai" story
After several considerations for a good 2nd timepiece to balance out my GMT IIc, I decided that Panerai was the way to go. Aside from the awesome distinctive look of the Luminor line, I really fell in love with the variety of 3rd party straps that you can customize them with. Thanks to dra144 (Alan) here on the Rolex Forums, I was able to officially join the club of Panerai owners. Picked up a PAM 112 from him at a fantastic deal and am loving it. I really feel that a base model was the perfect start for me. Aside from a decent entry level price point, I have to say that the simplicity of the dial is really awesome. It's bare bones, yet still makes a statement (if that makes any sense ). I also put an order in for a Gunny strap to go with this, so am waiting with much anticipation for it to arrive. Will post pics when that happens and I am able to get the combo put together! |

The best base, it has every feature that I like with PAM's...
44mm, Cleanest dial, Clearcaseback, Sandwich Dial - What more do you need?

Thanks all! I love this thing even more each time I wear it. I also had an IWC 3717 on order with an AD which just fell through. IWC told AD order could no longer be filled (end of life model). So I just got a refund, and am now thinking about putting that toward a more complicated PAM in the future. I've got the PAM fever!
As far as the 112 goes, masterkiller's post pretty much nailed it on the head for me: |
