Best Watches for Under $100.00

It's pretty hard nowadays to find a watch for under $100 that combines both styling, dependability, and decent workmanship. Most of the offerings in this particular price range are usually 'drugstore' varieties or faux designer brands and the majority of them often leave something to be desired.

Here are 3 watches for under $100 that actually meet the above criteria. Choice of movements include quartz, meca-quartz and mechanical. I actually bought a Little Griddle Grill Timer and the Seiko meca-quartz chronograph. So far, both have proven very reliable and I have no complaints. The Seiko chronograph actually lists for $125-$175 (depending on the vendor) but if you apply for an Amazon/Chase Visa, you'll get a $50 gift certificate towards any purchase and as a result, it only ran me about $75.00. Now if you were to apply the same gift certificate towards something like the Grill Timer ($50.00), that watch would end up costing you nothing. Not bad for a couple of inexpensive back-ups to my 16610. The mechanical Seiko 5 (with a display back) runs about $85.00.

Though some of the Invicta models fall into the sub-$100 category, they were excluded (on my part) due to their poor customer service, misleading MSRPs and oftentimes boorish stylizations.

Feel free to add your suggestions/pics as there are probably others worth considering as well.

Todd Synder x Timex Vietnam inspired Military Watch with the broad arrow logo on the dial retailing for US138 that was released last Feb 2017
Two such preowned quartz timepieces were sold recently for 53 bucks each on the WUS forum and eBay respectively...

Some noteworthy additions MF but the Seiko offerings (along with the Grill Timer) are better-looking watches IMO. Maybe around $75 is the cut-off point for a watch that actually looks presentable and is somewhat suitable for a variety of dress occasions.

The Grill Timer even blends in nicely with my Weber Genesis gas grill.

Pretty cool! If only they picked a better name...

Isn’t this the company that was stirring the pot a few years back making very inexpensive tourbillons?

Nice-looking timepiece MF. But is it reliable and where do you go (or send it) for servicing?

The movement is very 'industrial' looking. Does it even warrant a display case back?

Yep

I own a military chronograph from Sea-gull, it's not something that gets an awful lot of wrist time...

I just happen to be wearing one today.

Bought two of them a few years ago. $50 each on Amazon. Funny this photo was taken years ago and it’s todays day & date.

I think the straps cost more than the watches.
