Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but I'll give it a shot:

Does anyone know if you can get a caseback for the 116234 separately? AD or elsewhere. Looking to engrave mine but would rather have the engraving done on a separate caseback, should I choose to sell the watch down the line.

Minor mod, but had the center links polished. I wear suits often and prefer the pcl’s.

Thats well executed and looks great. Did you commission it from a jeweler?

You could buy a rainbow rolex if you really wanted to. Maybe not from an AD.

You gotta try this for the small possibility that it may fit. Would look seriously awesome.

I know it would look super cool, but I'm 100% certain that there's no way to fit it unless cutting the tip of the hand, which would look bad.

Yes the bezel and dial was commissioned from a jeweler. I could go to the grey market for a rainbow but, I won’t pay premium for one.

Hey gang, I’d like this “vintage” mod on my 14060. Is it possible to do it? (photo is not mine)

Ran... tell me about the parts & part numbers you needed for the oysterflex mod. What bracelet clasp? Can you share a pic? Both look great. Is that a 63200 or 63600 SJ?

Also... the rainbow mod is really high quality. If the gems are all real... this should run into the $6-8k space. Maybe more... interested to know what the OP paid.

Thanks! The SJ is a 63600
As for the oysterflex I just asked my AD for one and we worked out sizing (thanks to chadriv for the initial help figuring out my size based on his last year)

The end links are from our very own smartyjones smartyendlinks.com

Looks strange. But as long as you like it. That’s all that matters.

I just purchased my first Rolex: OP 36 blue Explorer dial.

The only thing I don't like is the lume on the hands. The dial glows throughout the night but the hands go dim so I can't tell the time early in the morning.

Worth changing the hand set to keep it original?

Did you swap the bezel inserts yourself? Care to explain how?

Not for the faint of heart! You need a prying tool, the bezel comes off easily. Now you have to be careful as there are 4 springs an little ball bearings that make the bezel rotate. You can keep the watch steady and put the other insert on, or keep these tiny parts on a cloth or small bowl.

Putting the insert back is super simple, put the little springs/balls back into place and just pop the insert on in any position. It will click into place, and you can spin it back to 12 oclock to line up to the triangle within the dial.

I've got a 116710 LN and have seen old date wheels with open 6 and 9 for sale that came off of old 3085 movements (the first GMT with independent hour hand, I believe). Does anyone know if that date wheel is compatible with the new GMT IIc movements, the 3186? That would be a cool, low-key mod, I think.

Thanks!

Just by reading your explanation, it doesn’t seems that difficult. ;-)

Can anyone tell me what jubilee bracelet would fit a 16800 sub?
And would it works with my current end links?
