G- Shock watches..

Are they any good and worth the $100? If you think they are pretty good for what they are which of these would you choose? Is there one you like better than these? If you think they are rubbish thats cool too and I want to hear it.

Worth $100, you bet they are! I know a couple of guys who collect these, but I only have the one myself. There's a huge amount of technology built into these for an extraordinarily affordable price. For the gym, working in the yard, etc., these are hard to beat. I love my nicer watches, but this one will always have a place in the collection.

Hey, I think they are great. Stylish, plus a ton of great features (vibrating alarms, atomic sync, solar, etc) Extremely reliable and durable. Its the only watch I've worn in the military that hasn't been smashed to pieces in the field. I definitely think they are worth the $100.

Yeah, thats exactly what I'm buying it for the gym etc. We're going on a cruise leaving this Friday and I think this would be perfect for going to the beach etc and I could wear one of my better watches to dinner at night. Theses ships always have room safes so I feel safe leaving a watch in my stateroom.

I have the Casio 5600 G-Shock. It's great when working outside, etc. It cost around $60 from Costco which means I have a lifetime warranty.

Good call on looking at one of these for your purposes. The only problem is that are almost too many choices. Features that I like the most are the "tough solar" and "tough atomic". As long as it gets some sun every couple of weeks, it will never stop. The atomic feature means that you can actually use this as your master clock when setting your other watches. Mine also has multiple alarms, world time (every time zone) stopwatch, and countdown. There are enough versions that you can probably find one that has just has the features you will most likely use. However, mine was only $160 shipped with all of the above.

I made it easy on myself. It had to be white. I just ordered #1 from above because the white shade/color looks much better and I think it will be easier to read the time and use the timer function. I got it 2 day shipping from amazon for like $90 on prime.

I know this is not a Rolex but I'm tired of wearing my sub to the gym. When I first got my rolex I was just starting to workout and was doing a lot of machines and lighter weights so the watch was safe. Now that I'm doing mostly free weights and starting to be able to throw around heavier dumbbells I'm just not comfortable wearing it to the gym anymore.

G Shocks are awesome. They come in many different functions, styles, sizes and colours.

There are many hardcore G fans out there. It's amazing.

I love G Shocks and this is one of my recent buys. It even matches one if my trainers

Aren't those the shoes Rocky wore?

I have to admit though, I was merely looking for an all white watch for a certain look that I could wear anywhere and luckily thought of G shock.

Durable and highly functional--200m, radio-controlled, stop-watch, alarms, solar-power, time-stamp, etc.

cue - eye of the tiger

this is by far my fave G-Shock. looks great, and loving the digi-ana style. it has a GMT function also and the strap is ultra comfy.

it lasted a 2 weeks Jordan-Egypt trip too

Good that you zeroed in on what you wanted right off the bat. But be careful, Bruno. You may want more of these after you receive yours. They come in handy with all the snow shovelling

Eric that is a beast of a watch.

Anybody own a white one? If this works out well maybe my next one will be red.

Bruno, my best advice if your looking into a g shock watch is get a master of G line model. These watches are all purpose related tool watches and depending on what it is that you do outside they make a model the offers features that are useful to you. When I was younger I collected all the master of G lines and can say that the best G shock has to offer can not be purchased on US soil. Like many great things from Japan they keep the good stuff there. The most sought after model is the G shock Frogman but this watch is limited and really expensive compared to the 6900 and GA100 model you have pictured. Also consider getting a solar atomic version as its great to use to track your performance of your automatic watches.

Master of G

The only three I have left are the 99' frogman, riseman, and fisherman.

I would go with the 6900. The ga 100 tend to have misaligned hour markers.

You're gonna need a longer arm if you keep that up.

6900 is awesome

I have the atomic solar version, and "upgraded" the strap. one of the most comfortable watch to wear.

I could fix that !

I can 'crunch it, twist it, pull it out of its socket, and he wouldnt feel it but for a second, cause he'd fall unconscious just that fast !

Then we could screw in a lengthening post, say 9 inches to accomodate another 6 Gs or "bakers dozen" of Baby Gs, then we could 'graft' some cow onto that and make it look OEM !

Somebody will have to esplain it to the wife though !

If you get white, make sure it is glossy white (like #2). Not sure if the 6900 model(#1) is glossy or matte finish. The matte finish will get dirty fast, glossy will not.

Here's a pic of my GA 100. The first one I got has misaligned hour markers so I have to exchange it for one that's all lined up. That's how I know. Now I love mine.

G-Shocks are awesome....I picked up a Riseman last month....Tough Solar/Atomic. For 200 bucks you can't beat it...that brings the Casio Collection to 6, 4G's, 1 Pathfinder, and 1 Databank from the early 90's.

G Shock are just awesome watches.

I have had mine now for nearly 14 years and it has never let me down.

They are just so INDESTRUCTABLE.
