1675 bezel question

Curious if anyone else has seen this on a 1675 (or other) bezel - next to the 4 there is a darker spot (one that did not fade evenly with the rest of the bezel). See photo below. It almost looks like it was scratched and repaired at some point but i don’t know if that kind of thing can even be done on aluminum like this. It’s been that way since I got the day I got it (my wife bought it from a very reputable seller about 5 years algo) and it is smooth to the touch and consistent with the rest of the bezel in feel. Anyone ever seen this on another watch?

Thanks,
Josh

Could it be a stain rather than an uneven fade?

I suppose but what could stain aluminum? It’s also only in that one pretty small spot...

At the risk of sounding cynical, they could be the result of being tested to see what a bowl of bleach will do to them
