A little GMT help....

Good afternoon. Was wondering if the experts could chime in on this GMT...1675
1.9 SERIAL
1966
-IS THE DIAL/HANDS AGING NORMAL? (BIG COLOR VARIATION)
-DOES THE LUME LOOK APPROPRIATELY AGED (NO ALTERATIONS IN THE PAST)
-STRONG/CONSISTENT DIAL?
-CASE LOOKS FAIRLY STRONG TO ME
-SELLER CLAIMS...ALL ORIGINAL, NO SERVICE PARTS

ANY COMMENTS/HELP IS APPRECIATED
THANKS AS ALWAYS

It kind of looks very poor on most points. Sorry.

Have them move the hands so we can see if it is a mk1 dial. Looks like it could be but hard to tell. Lume doesn’t look great on the dial but could be pics making it look worse. Hands show that it most likely taken in water as they to me look water damaged. GMT hand is either changed or relumed as it is completely different. My guess is that the lume fell out if it originally aged like the other hands. Case is to me pretty soft and poorly polished. Insert is much later than the watch itself.

Sorry to sound like an ass. I think you can do better. It is average looking at best.

Thank you! I’m not a GMT expert, so this is the info I’m looking for! Appreciated! The price kind of reflects what you’re describing

If "all-original" is the claim, the inconsistency of the GMT hand makes this a curious claim. Also, pretty sure this would have come with a fat-font insert but someone smarter about these things will hopefully chime in.

X2. The insert and date wheel have both been changed also. The dial and hands are in poor condition as well as a "below average" condition case.

There are positives and negatives* on this one. Proceed with caution. Could be a good buy, despite its flaws, but it all boils down to price.
...I would think the case back is a '68. Have you a pic?
* Besides the concerns already mentioned, I see a lot of flaking lume on the hour plots.

Not an expert on vintage, guess it all depend on the price you are getting and your plans with it

1966 is a good birthyear!

No pic. Was only contemplating if it was a decent review from the knowledgeable folks here.

I believe it should have a silver date wheel. The lume plots are irregular and the hand don’t appear to have aged naturally. I would pass.

Below is the correct date wheel. They were an off-white color - referred to as the "hooked 7."

Don’t know about the watch, but that is the most hideous strap I’ve ever seen

It is a lizard strap popularized during the "disco" era. Everyone should have one.

It's actually blue Stingray, not lizard, but still pretty hideous... even though the color matches the insert perfectly.
