Smash-and-grab robbers in New York City stole a large amount of high-end jewelry in a heist that was caught on video.

The robbery happened at Rocco's Jewelry in the Bronx on Friday at around 2:30 p.m. The business estimates that they lost $2.15 million worth of merchandise in the heist.

The jeweler, which is in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx and a short walk away from Fordham University, was closed on Saturday while police investigated the scene.

Surveillance video shows one of the suspects acting coolly as he approaches the store and waits to be let in.

After a Rocco's Jewelry employee buzzed him in, the white T-shirt-clad suspect held the door open for three masked men in black clothing.

One of the thieves is seen using a hammer to smash glass cases as the others shove fistfuls of jewelry into bags.

he heist - which lasted only around a minute - appears to have been carefully planned. Police have published images and descriptions of the suspects to gather more information.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted confidentially through the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on Twitter at @NYPDTips.

No agenda here......im just posting what I read about crimes on jewelry & watches. If youve seen anything posted on CNN let me know, ill post it because they dont usually post anything like this. Ive posted other links from other sites with stories, ill diversify, lol.

Not saying you have any agenda but interesting why certain news channels only show crime stories from specific states.. It is like they have an agenda or something....

Like in July there was a Rolex theft in South Carolina... Counterfeit Rolex watches (over 10 million worth) seized in Indianapolis in May.... I could go on and on...

Luxury thefts are up all over the world. Gee, think the watch hype news has made watches a target?

FFS people put on your tin hats with your conspiracy theories! It's a big story in NY and EVERY news outlet covered it and video is on Youtube. Google is your friend and there's pages of various news agencies that covered it.

PS: One news story is not considered "stats".

They probably don’t operate stores in most of our states. Although there are billionaires in most states and very rich people in all states, a lot of states are either sparsely populated or lack the necessary concentration of relevant customers needed for that type of store.

Crazy! Years ago I visited a store on Jewelers row in Philadelphia. They had a 2 door buzz in system, would only buzz you in after first door was closed.

Wonder why they wouldn’t protect 2 mil in inventory better , especially when crime is through the roof in NY

It’d be nice if we had some “Big Rock Candy Mountains” here or the concept of Cockaigne prevailed in our virtual TRF world...

Yet I’m sad to say such a mythical land of plentiful luxury, comfort, and peace is beyond our reach - just over that little green hill on the horizon.

Oh, and I hope they catch the bastids soon.

How is this a Fox specific news article? And are you trying to say crime is not dramatically up pretty much anywhere? Let alone NYC?
