IWC Mark XVI v. Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch

Which would you prefer, primarily for weekends and traveling? Preowned prices are similar. I've gone back and forth about 10 times, any advice would be appreciated. Assume 'both' isn't an option. Thanks! Also, if the vote is for the speedy, which one?

Speedmaster, classic moon watch reference. I like Mark XII though

I've had both and find the IWC to a better all around sport watch, having the date and auto movement.

Clearly much less of an icon but easier to wear IMO

I tried this on last week and it is a beauty! Not the classic moon watch but it is gorgeous!

Go further back. Mark XV is one I've been going back to for a decade, still gorgeous in its simplicity.

______
Mark XV, 14060M, PAM 372, Seamaster Chronostop

I like the dial and hands on the Mark XV but the 39mm size of the XVI works better for me. After wearing Panerai much of the time its as big transition down to 36mm. I have the sme issue with the Datejust now.

The IWC Pilot watches get less and less desirable with time (IMO). The Mark XII > Mark XV >> Mark XVI >>>>>>>> Mark VII. I would have a hard time deciding between a Mark XV on bracelet and a Speedmaster (I actually already faced this choice and bought the XV). However, I'd chose the Speedmaster over the XVI in a second.

The XV is 38mm. The XII is 36mm.

I'd get the Mk XVI as I'm not the biggest chrono enthusiast.

Mark XVI. Not sure the Speedy has staying power after the new wears off. It's a watch that seems to get flipped a lot.

I like the Speedy, but many times I wish it had a date. Go for an auto Speedy ;)

In this case I would get the Speedmaster as its iconic, versatile and just looks good with anything, but with the leather strap. If it was between an IWC MARK XII, then i would get the MARK XII with the JLC movement.
