IWC Big Pilot

Hi guys!!

I have recently got my first fine watch... I am in love with my pam zero.

But I am already thinking of what might be next for next year maybe...

How do you guys feel about the IWC Big Pilot? How is its resell value? I've read in another thread that IWC resell value is not really good with the time... might be the Big Pilot an exception for this? I am finding a used Big Pilot for around €7,000 minimum... with a list price here in Germany of €12,900.

I love that it's big but it also looks elegant and sporty at the same time (I love those rivet lugs)... I've seen some nice white straps for it...

Thanks for your input! Have a great Monday.

Cheers!

BP is very iconic. Lots of love for that model. If you're buying used, it'll hold value pretty well.

A great watch that will hold value fine as long as you get a good discount or buy used.

Here's a new model to consider.........the 46MM Pilot Double Chronograph, model 3778-01. If you can find a preowned one like I did from one of the great sellers on TRF (DavidSW) or any IWC Big Pilot, then you don't have to worry about resale value. If you buy it from an AD or a IWC Boutique, well..........don't expect to do to well from a resale standpoint.

Regardless, IWC makes great Pilot watches.......enjoy!!!

You can't go wrong with a big pilot. I didn't. :) If you can find a 5002 in mint condition, I say go for it.

Here's the wrist shot:

Hello, I think you are wearing it too high up the wrist.

Very beautiful watch and looks cool on you.

Kind regards

the BP is a great watch and a timeless classic. If you ever reconsider, take a look at the 5002.

Love all 46mm BP's...a 5002 preowned should conserve its value fairly well!

From the looks of it on your wrist, you can probably pull it off.

This is one of the most comfortable 'big' watches I have owned.

I have both the BP 5002 and 5004. I love them both. I bought the 5004 from David SW. The design seems basic but is amazingly cool. The quality feels unsurpassed when you hold it in your hand. The BP is one of the few watches I ever had people compliment me on when I'm out at a bar. I get zero feedback on any of my Rolexes or Omega's.
