Baselworld 2022 - Pay Per View

With the global lockdown and everyone communicating via FaceTime/Skype/Zoom etc, Baselworld may finally see the light and go online in 2022...

Imagine a slickly produced 2 hour presentation with all major brands from AP to Zenith introducing their newest wares. Kind of like a horological Apple Keynote.

Of course participants would have to provide their own overpriced beer and bratwurst.

At say, $19.95, who'd be in?

Not me...I can wait for it to be posted to YouTube or on the internet and watch it for free.

Same. You need to wait months/years to see them in person anyway.

For the sake of discussion, let's assume copyright protection precludes that from happening

Not a chance.

Everyone has to be first to post these days, so the new release photos and videos will be on the internet for free 10 seconds after the announcement.

I can wait more than 10 seconds

Precisely, just like the Apple updates by multiple websites when they have a product release (which is quite hilarious because OP literally used an Apple picture for his example lol).

Sorry OP, thread is a fail

Baselworld is deader than shell-suits, sequinned flared trousers and mullets.

Everything else aside, it would take far longer than 2 hours for all brands involved to present their new watches. We'd all be asleep by the time Zenith rolled around.

So, you want to pay 20 dollars for a two hour commercial?
