Is Titanium Octofinissimo a scratch magnet

Hi Guys-

Just wondering for those of you who own the octo--is the titanium version a total scratch magnet. I am torn between worrying about the scratches of a titanium version and worrying about the chipping of the ceramic version lol.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Stay healthy friends!

Can't answer your question about that watch but haven't found my Pelagos to be any different that my SS watches. I also have a titanium pen I [often] travel with and while there are some superficial scratches, it actually looks good considering the miles logged.

My Ti watch holds up better than an polished steel bracelet.

I gather that folks have highlighted the disadvantage of steel but I am actually intrigued by the upcoming brushed steel version because it is 100m water resistant.

I am planning to (hopefully) add the Octo this year, I will get it in titanium. In my experiences with other titanium watches I like how the metal shows wear and tear to me used titanium looks better than steel. The blasted finish should hide a lot of marks I would assume

I like the idea of the ceramic one but wouldn’t own it.

depends on the grade of titanium

grade 5 = 349 vickers
grade 2 = 145 vickers

I work a desk job with a mac. I don’t see anything major. So yes. Good enough.

I was intrigued by that too. Game changer in the ultra thin space. Depending on what you do with that extra 70m resistance. It is not shock proof due to its delicate than usual movement.

I still like my Ti version though and will probably wait for Bulgari to release the perpetual calendar with 100m WR.

I did try out the chronograph one... but the 42mm was a bit too big on my wrist.

I think it’s coated with something because mine is almost one years old and it’s flawless still.

Wearing it now.

If I had to pic I’d pick ceramic a lot harder to crack then to scratch :)

Im also curious about this. Debating between the skeletonized version in black ceramic or black PVD coated Ti.

Any have experience with either of these materials/coatings on the Octo?

Bumping this thread. Take a gander at HODINKEE if you can. They just posted a great write up on the new stainless steel octo dropping this summer.
