Waiting time

Hi.
I have just put my name down for 2 watches.
Datejust 41 RRP £6300
Steel
Jubilee bracelet
Smooth bezel
Black dial

Submariner RRP £6300
Steel
Black bezel and dial

Do we know rough waiting times on both of these?

They will be my first Rolex’s.
I’ve only owned Breitling’s and Omega so far.

Cheers

Jordan

Have you put your name down at the same place you bought your Breitling and Omega?
Despite what I read on here I know many in Scotland who never receive calls. The DJ will certainly be easier than the 114060. If you’re in a position to buy you could do ok as many people may decline offers due to Covid-19

The ADs I know (likely the ones the OP is dealing with) won’t give any indication of waiting time in general,

Sounds bizarre but they tend to give no timescales.

They are not taking deposits apparently.
If they get them in stock they will contact people on their list.

Don't know why people think Theoffice is being facetious or an @rse.

If you want to know the wait time ask the AD.

If the AD won't tell you the wait time (a la WOS/Goldsmiths/Mappin&Webb etc) and won't even take a deposit it's because they wish to keep absolute control of who they sell to and make sure they squeeze as much profit and additional cheap-tat sales out of every in-demand Rolex sale. They're nice about it, they don't just tell you to take a walk, but without greasing their palms you'll remain as just a name at the bottom of their list.

If it is a WOSG chain then go in another time and ask the wait time on a Rolesor Yacht Master II, they'll get you one in in about 2-3 days. Not because Rolex delivered them one but because, like all their Rolex watches, they have them in centralised stock and choose to sell you one.

As I’ve said in previous posts I’ve been trying for a Sub date over 2.5 years, most AD’s I’ve tried over that period would not even take my details, I’m supposedly on 2 AD’s lists now but without any confirmed dates, I’m on the verge of giving up as I won’t pay a premium elsewhere.

I know what you mean. I struggled to even obtain a Datejust 41! I have decided to make the jump to PM.

I’m with one for the Sub and a Deep Sea which was a few months ago now and another for the DJ.

I’m hoping they don’t all come at once.

Is it the Black DS or the JCDS?

I got offered a black deep sea in February from Laings in Edinburgh. They are pretty easy to come by.

Took me about 6 months for a DJ41. Had a bit of history with AD but nothing excessive.

Originally it was the wimbledon dial, jubilee with fluted bezel. (Was after this for a good year - even tried ADs in other countries).

After no luck, I moved onto wanting the rhodium dial, jubilee with fluted bezel. (been approx. 5 months - but have since given up).

I had the opportunity to buy the rhodium dial WITHOUT the fluted bezel, but I think the fluted bezel makes a big difference.

I was always told the SS Sports models were unattainable and wouldn't even take my details. The PM piece I want I am now finding its also a wait, but at least my details have been taken.

Was this just on a list or actually ordering it?

An AD can’t order steel DJ41, they’re allocation only

Oh.. I spoke to someone else who made a YouTube video on theirs and he said he orders and put down a 25% deposit and had it in 3 months.

This was to get the watch. My AD has an 'expression of interest' rather than a specific list so if someone comes along with 'better' potential for sales they're more likely to be ahead of me/you in the running.
That said not all AD's are necessarily the same. Mine is quite upfront with expectations.
Good luck.

I like the “expression of interest” term. That’s how my AD operates. I got offered a jubilee stainless Wimbledon 2 months after letting them know I want target all the Rolexes with green in them.
