I have a lot of income inequality with Bill Gates, yet I'm doing fine. The goal should not be how to make the wealthy poorer, it should be how to make the poor wealthier. People who are successful didn't necessarily oppress someone else to get there, they worked hard (May have had a little luck), and made good choices. No need to feel guilty. We all have equality of opportunity, there is no way to insure equality of outcome.
What a great post! I wish I could’ve put it so eloquently.

I’ve worn my day date everyday. I wouldn’t know the day of the week otherwise...lol... my day date is comforting to me. It is part of normal life for me. I’m treasuring bits of normality when I get them.

My sub never got noticed before COVID19 and I'm guessing people have more on their minds then what's on my wrist...so I'll proudly wear something that means a lot to me and reminds me of one of my greatest achievements. But you do you.

No judgement on anyone. Maybe I’m too self conscious, but I don’t need to walk around with a car on my wrist at the moment.

YMMV
That's why I wear a VC Overseas, nobody knows it cost any more than their Nixon.

I'll post one of mine. I find myself wearing this quite often due to its ruggedness and ability to read it at night.

I like your watch.

I’m not sure I understand your post except if it gets you through these trying times than so be it. I truly don’t think anyone really recognizes what anyone is wearing on their wrists each day. Except maybe if you had the rainbow Daytona. And then they’d probably think it was costume jewelry anyway. Out of curiosity what do you drive? If it’s a luxury car are you keeping that in the driveway? People would notice that more than your watch. Particularly these days when you’re probably housebound.

I’ve had crumby luck with luminox. I like the marathon tritium dive watches. They ain’t battery driven plastic.

I was in the supermarket the other day and noticed a guy wear a rolex submariner, stopped and had a chat.
You either take notice of other people around or you dont.
I dont take notice of people driving flash cars, half of them are on tic or got bank loans or leasing them just to look like they are rich, showboaters.
This fella I was talking to drove the same old 4wd I did. A truck built for a lifetime. Bit like an old rolex sub.

I've always worn what I wanted when I wanted. 99% of the people won't notice your watch and those who do probably are a WIS.
