Over / the mark to market on price discovery hard to swallow. I still see this as a jem
A few years out. In the meantime I plan on enjoying the dial, perfect case size, and tiny diamonds no1 knows are there but me.

Jin - I got you

He got it secondary. So the mark to market is likely minimal for him.

Yeah, we now have to pay for the VIP Tapatalk App to upload high resolution pics. Silly.

I can't afford the VIP so the pics suck. They must of realized we were posting high value watches and thought they'd cash in

My intention is to keep it. It took me almost 3 months to sell and regain my money from my 3970j to move into the the 5170p at a reasonable valuation.

I currently have 12.

Had a brief love affair with thinking I should collect every modern rolex and then I wanted an aquanaut and got groupthinked into a 5164a and a 5167R which both lasted less than a month. However the mainstay of my collection has remained unchanged (5711/1680 red/3970 that became 5170p)

Interesting thoughts on how groupthink can influence buying decisions. Many of the watches really talked up, hyped, do not live up to expectations on the wrist.
Too bad in this market, one cannot really test drive a model and think the purchase over.

I gotta avoid enabling places like European Watch Company or this forum (lol); or next thing you know I'll be putting a non-specific-to-any race knock-off strap on a Patek Minute Repeater and you guys are screaming like a thousand dying kittens...

Oh gosh it’s 50/50 right now.

How about I convince everyone that I’m going for a blue and grey themed collection?!

I see an old friend in there and also want that CG setup badly! Would be the perfect watch for my son to smack and spit up on

I think Jin will keep the 5170 through 2019 minimum. It’s so good would be hard to let go.
