This- for several reasons, actually. The deals available notwithstanding, 1) the classic proportions suit my 6.5-6.75” wrists far better, and 2) the optics of these 36mm portions represent the icon that started/maintain my enthusiasm for our hobby. I’m just one millennial, though- YMMV.

To my eyes the DD40 looks more proportion and elegant than DD41.
I have to admit that I cannot link the word sportive to Day-Date, so I see that the new version has the perfect proportion for a formal Rolex watch of 21st century; even some of the supporters of classic DD36 start to look at the DD40 with some interest.

Damn, I need more photos of this DD40 in Rosegold with chocolate dial, man I knew I shouldn’t have come back in here

Can totally see myself not resisting this temptation too. Quick question, is it noticeably larger/thicker than the dj41, does it sit higher on the wrist?

Man I am facing this similar dilemma now. Was kinda set on a Skydweller but always wanted a DD. And especially am keen on the presidential bracelet. Even looked at that thread which showed the Skydweller on different bracelets (thanks op for that one).

Main thing for me is the 40mm size. Don't feel at all comfortable wearing my Daytona, and the Sub just barely makes it. Have not tried on a DD 40 so does anyone know how it compares to a Sub, for example ?

I totally see the proportionality of the 40 vs 41 DD though. Do they essentially have the same dial size ? Kinda lame. Otherwise will really just have to hold out for that Skydweller

DD40 for me is perfect. I also wear a Daytona and 16800 sub so 40 is my sweet-spot.
All the watches are unnoticeable to me when wearing.

Love them both. The II is more bold, the 41 is more elegant. Both fantastic

DD2. I find the DD40 too small.

DD40 would be my preference. I think the size is spot on.
