OP39 for SBGH037

I have an offer to trade my OP39 for a mint SBGH037 plus some cash to me

Struggling a bit as I really do like the OP but feel the Seiko is a bit more interesting, also an LE of 1000pcs (plus the high beat is )

The nice thing about the OP is it would not be too hard to require if I decide to go back

Pic of the rest of my collection included as well

What does TRF think? I am making the decision by the end of the weekend

The SBGH will wear a bit larger. Be sure to try it on first.

The hi-beat movement itself is great. But, the 3130 is rock solid. Each have their pros and cons.

Personally, I would add it if possible and sell your OP39 later if you decide you truly don't want it in the collection. Although, I suppose sourcing another OP39 won't be too difficult in the future if you decide you want another.

Yes, for sure. The OP is a very fine watch, but with your collection, I would want something a little, well, more.

Both are great watches...but that sbgh037 is a fantastic watch. And I feel way more interesting and overall a better looking and pleasing watch.

On second thought, yeah, I'd do it. The OP39 should be easy enough to replace if you want another. The SBGH037 is far more interesting overall.

I’d do it. The GS is just way more interesting.

I'd trade that OP for that GS in a heartbeat. OP is easy to replace if you feel that you'll terribly miss it. Very nice!

I love Grand Seiko, but for me the OP39 white dial is nearly the perfect watch.

GS are beautiful pieces. The fit and finish are excellent.

OP. Look into the SARB035. It’s probably one of the best watches under $500.00 I have the black dial Sarb033, and I love it. They call it a “ Baby Grand Seiko.” This way you could hold on to the OP39mm.

I would not do it and I am huge Grand Seiko/Seiko fan. While the Rolex can be replaced very easily it maybe your most wearable day to day watch. Grand Seiko/Seiko has a lot of options out there and there are many that will work. If you can pull it, why not just buy the Grand Seiko and let it live in the collection for for a month or two. You will then see how it fits and how much wear it gets. Should you still feel the need to get rid of the Rolex then do it. I think they can both work well in your collection. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Good decision. I posted earlier OP. Look at the Seiko Sarb035 it will probably fill the need for the GS at the moment. There’s plenty of YouTube videos. A lot of watch, for the money.

I wholeheartedly agree. While the OP39 is a fine watch (great way to describe it), it isn't that "special" to me. I think the GS that you're looking at has a bit more going for it. Also, if you miss the OP39 down the road, I'm sure picking up another won't be too hard. Maybe go for an Exp1 for something a bit more interesting to look at.
