Just arrived Air-King and a new to Rolex suggestions?
Hey Everyone!
Long time lurker here but first time poster! I’ve been saving since the announcement of the 116900 Air-King and finally got the call last week for the watch from an AD! Super excited to finally have this and have been wearing it around since it arrived! Couple of newbie questions though... does anyone have a “new to Rolex” kit recommendation? Things like which microfiber cloth to use that won’t introduce scratches, other cleaning products to recommend (like does a special soap exist for the Rolex recommended deep cleans?), storage trays for night time? Lastly, any suggestions on how tight is too tight to screw down the crown after setting the time? Thanks in advance! |

Congratulations, the new AirKing is a great watch, hope you enjoy it.
Tighten the crown based on feel, as your fingers feel resistance, that’s enough. Others will weigh in on cloths and cleaning.

Congrats!!
Micro fiber cloth is good for crystal. When you start hitting the bezel or polished sides, you run the risk of small scratches. Regardless, scratches will appear no matter how careful you are, so I wouldn’t worry about it all that much. For cleaning, dish soap and warm water. Let it sit for a little bit. Can lightly scrub with a soft toothbrush, run under water to get soap off and dab it with a soft towel to dry. For crown, I wouldn’t tighten it to hard. Might not be easy to unscrew when a wind is needed. Once it is closed all the way you are fine. |

For cleaning, Wrist Clean make good products. I use their Super-Soft Watch Brush with dish soap and water. Dried with their drying cloth, and wiped clean as needed with their ultra daily cloth. |

Congratulations! I've just been using regular hand soap and a microfiber for my DJ on oyster and it works well. I agree with the suggestion above that you should just wear it and enjoy without stressing too much about scratches. Take it off if you're doing manual work and are worried about unnecessary scratches.

Congrats fellow Air-King owner! Best reference made by Rolex!
Most cloths, even microfibre, will leave fine hairline marks. Worked this out on my OP 39mm - now I wear my Rolex watches in the shower, wash them with body soap and pat dry... A t-shirt on the crystal is good for the rest of the day. You don't need fancy items. There's a point where the crown is snuggled, that's enough. Don't force it. A tray? Hmmm... That's getting very deep into ownership and crossing into worship Good luck with it... Wear it and don't sweat the bumps and scratches it's inevitably going to get. |

I love the fact it was the first Rolex to feature both the Rolex green and gold color crown on the dial! Feels nice on the wrist still and I loved the way it felt when I first tried it on a couple years back.

If you don't already have you should get a single Watchpod case, essential for a new Rolex. https://www.watchpodcases.com/produc...od-single-case

Enjoy the new watch! As others wrote the cloth will b fine and I use my cotton t shirts. It will get scratches and probably already has them by now. Only notice really in direct sun.
Rubber B can fit quick if you have the technique down and band fits exactly otherwise may need to start bending spring bars which isn't ideal. |
