Icon20 Some 15500 blue and 15202BC wrist shots

Stopped by the NYC boutique today for their "trunk show". The 15500s and 15202BC look great. Unfortunately the shop has no interest in selling me one within the foreseeable future.

Awesome shots. The 15500 is growing on me, in no small part due to that gif. Salmon dial looks incredible as well, as expected.

Slightly off topic, but the last (and only) time I was in the Beverly Hills boutique, the sales representative would not let me take a wrist shot of the RO Chronograph I was trying on. She said that it was store policy. Without a frame of reference saved to my phone (I have terrible memory), I ended up ruling the RO Chronograph out just before my last purchase.

Has anyone had a similar experience (in Beverly Hills or otherwise)? It was off-putting, to say the least.

yes that 15500 is tremendous. how remarkable that you cannot purchase it.

Thanks for sharing. In my opinion though, the minute marker still looking bad, and dial empty. I am not a fan of the second hand either.

Anyway, I have already a 15400 blue so not in the market for this one.

Compared to the work of art that is the 202,
everything about the dial of the 500 is off.
For me the 500 is a big miss.

Hmmm...the 15500 doesn't look nearly as bad as I previously thought, maybe it's because 15400 is not in the same photos.

For the 202, is it just me or the minute markers are way too far off the edge?

Beautiful!

Recently, I ordered a 15500 in blue - arriving "second half of 2019." What is your wrist size? I'm a little over 7" and am a little worried that it will look too large.

Beverly Hills boutique SUCKS

I wish AP would take that store over and stick it to those A**holes.

When the bal harbor boutique found out about my experience with the bev hills store (especially as a new client to AP) they went out of their way to make it right and completely change my view of AP and the customer service experience.
And other boutiques are very aware of how bad the Beverly hills boutique is.

They SUCK

P.S: I watched the 30 for 30 on Ric Flair for the second time the other night.....................one of my favorite 30 for 30 episodes ever.

Very nice. Did they have the new 38mm chrono in as well?

15500 looks good. I like the fat hour and minute hands. Wait for greys to have one at 30k soon ...

not sure how I feel about the 500. i really like the new minute track, indices and larger logo. very not a fan of the empty lower half of the dial/removal of the word “automatic”.

though I’m a new (and very happy) 15450 owner so this is all academic for me.

oh and that 202 is killer.

It looks different than the previous shots we have seen, it looks like the hour markers from the 15400. Where they actual watches or models? The 15202 is a beauty thanks for the pics.

I agree they do SUCK, and that is the correct word for it. They make AP and the entire experience look very bad, I didn't even want an AP after I visited that store. One person there in particular is big Dbag. I would love for AP to kick this store in the a**. They are owned by Westime.

I was thinking this too. The 15500 looks so much better in the OP's photos.

Thanks for the pics!

The biggest things that irk me about the 15500 is the minute track and the empty bottom half of the dial. I can get past the markers and date window.

This might be the best shade of blue that AP has done. For me the blue removes any concern I had for minute markers, removal of "Automatic", etc...

me too

I had a similar experience earlier this week at the NYC boutique:

Went wearing my 15400:

And tried on the 15500:

Caseback looks very nice:

Side by side:

15202:

Also tried on a couple 1159's. Boring dials but overall I thought they were very nice on wrist:

The seconds hand on the new 15500 really bothers me and I'm usually not bothered by these things...

I only looked at them briefly next to each other, but I did consciously look to compare the blue color....from what I could tell they looked identical between the 15400 and 15500 blues.

Do you know if the shade of gray has changed, they are listed as two different colors on the website for 15400 and 15500.

Sorry I don't know. They had the gray at the boutique, but I only took a quick look. It would be very difficult to tell without having them side by side. They do look pretty close in this pic that was circulating around before:

Thanks for side by side comparison. 15400 all the way!!
15500 looks larger due to empty dial.

Yes the NYC boutique had the 38mm chronos on display as well. They looked fantastic, but I only just glanced at them. For my wrist, even the 39mm's feel a little bit small.

Tried 38mm and the jumbo.
It's going to get harder and harder to find any pieces in AP boutiques.....

Yep, I had that same experience at Beverly Hills boutique. It's also the only watch store I feel I have ever been treated poorly at. The Patek store one block away treats people way better. Almost as if they appreciate you showing an interest in their product. Imagine that!

someone's comment about the dial looking larger on the 15500 could be an issue as i think the 15400 is on the edge of that. maybe that makes it even less likely they will make a white.

also i do miss the writing of automatic on the new one. what strikes me about this on the 15400 is how extraordinarily delicate and detailed the lettering is. it very much adds to that the effect the watch has in regards to its exquisiteness.

but there is an overall effect of the 15500 in the photos shown that looks good i think. very good. totally agree re: 15202. fantastic.
