Incoming GRAIL!!!!
A little backstory here...
This year I've purchased a ROO 26405CE as well as a black dial 15400. Both of which I love. Of course, however, I was still after my holy grail from AP. I'm talking about the 15202ST. I assumed a few different things, all of which I was wrong about. First, I assumed it was too small for my 7 inch wrist. Boy was I wrong. While on vacation in Paris with my wife this summer, we stopped into the AP boutique and I had the chance to try on the 15202st for the first time. It belonged to someone who had already purchased it, but let me try it on for size (fully stickered etc.). To my surprise, it was an incredible fit. Not only does it feel like a delicate piece of jewelry with a stunning blue dial, but the case actually sits more like a 40mm watch. I found it to be the perfect balance of dress and sport, in an unbeatable size. My next assumption was that it'd be well over a year wait to get my hands on one. Well, I came home from Paris, stopped into my local AD, and expressed great interest in the 15202st. We talked watches for a while as usual, but ultimately they reminded me how difficult this piece was to acquire, how long the waiting list was, etc. Well, 3 weeks later, and with my birthday approaching rapidly, I got the email.... |
