Tudor Black Bay Pro - Incoming...

I got the call to pick up my Tudor Black Bay Pro last month and have been testing it out across North America. Tudor has a fantastic watch on its hands!

  • Great travel watch
  • Steel and robust (looks good during the day and night out)
  • 39mm size is perfect
  • Easy bracelet adjustment with t-fit (much faster and easier to adjust than the Sub glidelock and way more useful than easy link)
  • GMT function is handy and works exactly like my BLRO/BLNR
  • Vintage feel with modern features (from afar a SA at a Rolex Boutique mistakenly thought I was wearing a vintage 1655 Explorer II)
  • 200m water resistant
  • and at $4k only, I have zero worries traveling with it

(PS all the talk about its "thickness" is WAY overblown. If you're used to wearing a Sub or GMT, once the BBPro is on your wrist it wears exactly the same)

Great pictures, good quick write up. Yes it is a beautiful piece and definitely has vintage vibes. Didn’t know about the bracelet adjustment advantages.

Good pick up and write up. Completely agree with your points. I have mine on the fabric strap and love it. Tudor hit it out the park with this IMO.

Lume is better than any watch I've ever owned

I liked it that much, I sold my BB58 which I thought I would never do.

Looks great! What do you like more, the explorer II or BB Pro?

39mm not for me. Good looking watch, though I do prefer my explorer 2 42mm which wears more like a 40/41mm.

Very nice! Looks beautiful! I have been actively trying to get one of these since they were released. Your review/feedback is appreciated, and only strengthens my desire to own one. I have always been a huge fan of the 1655, and this is the perfect alternative for me!

My one concern was the thickness (as you had mentioned), so I'm glad to hear that it's not an issue comparing to a Sub or GMT. 39mm will be the perfect size for me as I have a smaller wrist. Price point is definitely very appealing as well. Now, all there's left to do is to find one to buy! Lol.

Thanks again OP for the great review and pics. Congrats! Glad to hear that you're enjoying that beauty!

Another winner here from Tudor. Congrats on the pickup, looks outstanding next to your polar Exp II in some of those photos.

I was surprised how well and how quickly it adjusted …. And the BBPro clasp is so much shorter than Sun clasp and adds to the positive wearing experience

Congratulations on the purchase! Would you consider the 40mm Black Explorer II 16570 to be more understated than the Black Bay Pro or the other way around?

I don’t think you’ll regret it. At least I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Pretty much all I’ve worn this past month

I also own SD4K which is thicker than BBPro so the thickness of the BBPro wasn’t really a concern before or after purchase

For daily wear i do like the BBPro more at the moment probably because it’s new to the collection. And I really like having on the fly adjustment with the t-fit

For sentimental reasons it’s Exp2 because that was my first Rolex 22 years ago
