Which Would You Choose?

Had an appointment today and my Dr was wearing his Pepsi. I had on my Explorer II. I hadn’t really thought about how similar they are. I think they are exactly the same except for the bezel…. But the Pepsi is worth at least $5K more…. If each was valued the same, which would you choose?

Both look great. Nice shot of the duo! If I had to pick, it would be the Pepsi for me. Looking at both of your watches, your Explorer is exactly 1 minute ahead, almost exactly (-2) down to the second! Lol.

Thanks for sharing.

Explorer II. That was probably my favorite watch until I replaced it with a regular Explorer. I never personally understood the love for the Pepsi colors. If I got a GMT, it would be black.

Bought the Explorer II around 2002..Never bonded with it and didn't wear it much at all in many years..When the 226570 came out, it made me start to appreciate the smaller 16570. I finally started to wear it regularly and after all those years I bonded with it!

Can't imagine not having it now.

That being said, the Pepsi might be my favorite of my collection and if I had to choose just one, it would be that no doubt.

Prefer the Pepsi because its bezel is more versatile and I like the colour scheme.

Actually friend although the explorer can track a second time zone (because both have identical movements) that makes it a dual time zone watch. The 24hr hand’s intended use was as an am/pm indicator.

The GMT master is aptly named because of the bidirectional rotating bezel that allows it to track multiple time zones.

They are not the same watch to me and that’s why having both a polar white explorer II and a Pepsi GMT Master are desirable, unless you do something wild like this modification that was covered by Rolex magazine a while back.

Without taking into account price and/or ‘legacy’ I would most definitely choose the Explorer II 100% of the time.
