Black bay chrono panda incoming

Was lucky enough to pick one of these up yesterday. I wasn’t on the list but my AD knows me well and had offered me the black the week before which I passed on due to having multiple black dials.

This particular watch was allocated to a customer who turned it down due to the change in financial circumstances, and they hadn’t yet got round to ringing around the next on the list etc.

Having purchased a black bay pro a month or so ago, they let me have a look at it. I asked them if it was available to purchase and the rest is history.

It’s a terrific looking piece and the dial really pops in the sun. In the past I have been critical of the height and the slab sides of tudors, but I must say that the 0.5/1mm they have shaved off this really makes a difference and the fact the case back sinks into the wrist makes for a wearing experience different than I remember.

The hands can disappear a little, but that’s been my experience with most white dialled watches and a small adjustment of the wrist is all that’s necessary to see again.

Overall, really pleased and Tudor seem to be knocking it out the park at the moment. In a world where the likes of omega, tag, zenith etc seem to be rising prices stratospherically, these represent massive bang for buck and I can see another Tudor or two in my future.

It can certainly take stuff the 321 and the snoop can’t. It’s much more comfortable than it’s size would suggest also. It’ll be taking on swimming duties during the summer hols for sure!

That's a beauty! One of the things I love about this piece is the solid black sub-dials. Makes such a bold/beautiful contrast against the white. With the black bezel, that really completes the look! Well done. Congrats and enjoy!

Big congrats, Steve. It's an amazingly handsome watch. I am lucky to own the black dial version, so I know exactly what you mean about the robust and rugged nature of this watch. I'm really loving the tool-centric focus of Tudor. It's what brought me to the brand. Enjoy your new BB Chrono to the fullest!

Beautiful watch and congrats. I almost picked one up a month ago, but am on the list for the Daytona panda. If not, I'd likely get this, as it is an awesome looking watch in person. I do have it's older uncle though

I loved the black dialled version too - just I have other black dials. I will say though that if I ever needed to liquidate the more expensive pieces, I’d be perfectly happy with the black and white in these as a pair and they’d do everything I need them to.

I think these are terrific watches. The slight height decrease from the original makes a lot of difference and I can’t remember a 41mm Tudor being as comfortable wear wise.

Congrats on your black one. As you say, Tudor are smashing it at the moment

I am the same usually, but while I showed some restraint for once and passed on the black a week or so ago, the white made more sense to me to fill a slot I don’t currently have

Love those older ones. What a lovely watch.

In your case, it probably makes sense to wait. I hope the Daytona comes through for you

Beautiful! I just got my panda a few weeks ago ago after waiting a year. Well, my wife got it as the AD called her instead as a Father’s Day surprise.

What surprised me most about the piece is the fact that the dial is so subtlety silver, which doesn’t come through in pics.

Nice!

I also often wonder why Tudors are so thick in general. I assume it's because of its movement and not a design choice. This chrono uses a Breitling movement, so it's thinner, at least my assumption.
