Best Modern Rolexes for leather strap?
I’ve always wanted to buy a dress watch, and I will, one day I just don’t get round to it something always takes it’s place. There’s definitely a Lange or patek in my future.
There an old topic been brought back to life on the front page of the forum with the black 116500 and it looks great on a leather strap. I own quite a few watches (too many to list) but I can’t think of and which would look good on leather - generally most don’t in my opinion. I think a black dial always pleases my eye personally complemented by a leather strap. Majority of my watches are PM, so I wouldn’t really want to remove the bracelet and the weight. Which modern Rolexes do you guys have on a leather strap, maybe you’ll give me some inspiration as a temporary fix |

Yes that comes with a leather strap already, so wouldn’t require one.
Hmm you’ve given me a brainwave there actually Brian. The black ss sky dweller! |

I have worn my 16710 16610 and 116500 on leather straps and they all look good. Here are some pics.

Of the current catalogue? I'd vote something pretty unpopular, but the 36 (or 41) silver dial OP. The gold accents would go great with a leather strap.

I always liked the Daydate 36mm on a leather strap.

The tough part is the pin position on the lugs and the sort of lip on the case back for modern Rolex — it scratches terribly many leather straps.

Purely my opinion, but I think putting any Rolex that came on a bracelet onto leather would be a massive downgrade.

Karleone, those straps look amazing. I would have never thought about even trying a strap on those watches. I’m wondering where you purchased those from? I’d like to buy one.

The one worn by Aziz Ansari in HODINKEE talking watches, is really nice. Onyx day date on a leather strap.
