Photographing Your Watch Need Tips

I usually use my iphone and can't seem to get a clear close up. Any tips on taking good shots? Lighting, background etc.?

Recommend a clip on macro lens. Check out Amazon as to what works on your model. Make a big difference.

Yes for macro a cheap clip on lens will help.

My phone is prehistoric, but with the right setting, lighting and angles will still take some nice photos

Above all, don’t be afraid to experiment with different scenes, angles and settings.

Which clip on did you use? Looks good.

Wow! Beautiful photos!

It just goes to show, it's more about the person behind the camera than the camera that you use.

I'd be interested to know which clip on lens you use too!

Use a cheap light box setup, use a small tripod with a bracket for the phone, use a BT shutter release.

Then practice.

If you a want to do macro work, then you will need some lenses to clip onto the iPhone. I tried that for a while - but when Apple changed form factors or lens arrangements, it obsoleted the accessory lenses.

It came from a secret Santa gift actually so not sure on the exact type and packaging is all gone now. But there would have been a £5 or £10 maximum - so when I say cheap I really mean it.

Amazon has loads of similar things all at low prices so worth a go for one with good reviews but I expect they all work similarly.

I did acquire my brothers more expensive lens when he upgraded his phone but aside from a slightly wider field of view it never takes much better photos.

I have also noticed in my own photos I do tend to go for a similar style for the off the wrist shots. Watch close in foreground in focus and blurred out background. I just achieve this by camera angle / position - no technical skill. But I should also heed my own advice and experiment a bit more.

Practice, editing and good light. These were all shot with my iPhone XS Max, no attachments needed.
