Our microwave at the new house isn’t wimpy like our old one. The time in the original recipe is exact now, only thing that I modified was to use dark Karo. I’ll probably need to make a second batch in another day or two.

Hey Guys:

Time to fire up the microwave again to crank out some more of the candy!

I'm headed to the grocery store now to pick up the ingredients and smell up the kitchen!!

Be safe,

I did my first 2020 batch a couple weeks ago, I don’t usually do it that early but someone at my wife’s work was requested it!

Doug:

No new pics; it looks about the same every year!

Make sure you stir the first 4 ingredients well before putting it in the microwave the first round...

Also, adjust the time of cooking each time if needed; every microwave is different on it's power output...

Otherwise, jump in and enjoy the candy!

Thanks Tim for the bump; time to hit the kitchen!

Every year we have a list of friends who DEMAND this as their gift!

Not nice to piss off the mail lady or the garbage men this month; they have long memories and they can make your life miserable!!

Be safe and have a great holiday season!

Haven’t had brittle in about 10 years and yours looks fabulous! Gonna have to try this, now the hard part, where does one find raw peanuts for sale in NY? I’ve never seen them.

I get them in the produce section at the grocery store. They’re always there, just never noticed until I started making this fantastic recipe!

Thanks, I’ll take a look in a local market that has a pretty extensive produce section. Merry Christmas

Question. How do you clean the Pyrex mixing bowl? It’s stuck on there pretty good.

We use lots of hot soapy water and a soft spatula...

Hey Guys:

The disruption in the delivery systems has led to a shortage of shelled, raw peanuts at our local grocery store.

If they don't show up this week, we may have to buy unshelled nuts and spend part of the holidays cracking them open!!

What we do for our little addictions!

Amazon, they have 5 pound bags of Organic Raw shelled peanuts. I use it to make peanut butter every month so it was an easy transition for me

My wife made peanut brittle with unsalted roasted peanuts. And amazing *something* with walnuts I'd shell for her.

Not sure what difference raw vs. roasted makes. But after $2k in dental work early this year, I'll not be eating brittle this decade!
