Have you seen the Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert?

ag986 posted this watch in yesterday’s WRUW, and I commented on how good it looked IMHO. Now I’ve stumbled upon it again on Watchville’s link to T&T. https://www.calibre11.com/2018-heuer...ition-cbe2114/

I know little about Heuer, nothing about Calibre 11, and have barely heard of Mr. Siffert...but this sure looks like a pretty watch to me. It’s limited to 100 pieces, and I’m tempted. Do you think one would ever get one’s money back flipping it on in the future?

Your thoughts?....

Here’s ag986 (Sam’s) picture...

It's beautiful but a little big (42mm and 15mm tall) for me. But it's beautiful if you have the wrist for it.

Actually Sam's ag986 picture is JACK HEUER 85TH BIRTHDAY EDITION which I like more than Siffert in this modern edition of Heuers...

And vintage Heuer Siffert is a great looking watch...

I do like it, but agree it’s on the thick side

This one will definitely keep it's value or even increase over time, as it's a collector's model.

It checks many boxes to me.

Clean and sporty racing design, historic-inspired design without being a reissue and no faux patina, column wheel chrono with vertical clutch, comes with strap as well, numbered limited edition, and sturdy enough to have as a daily beater. All at less than $6K. I ordered one - I think it is a keeper.

Big kudos to David C/Calibre11 and Tag Heuer for seeing this through.

I almost posted this thread lol

I agree it is hard to fault. If I didnt have too many watches on deck this would be an add. Well done TAG.

I like how they added minute hashes on the 30 counter. The Reverse panda needs this correction still.

This piece really caught my eye as well. Well executed panda dial with the blue accents...gorgeous! Reporting on the 02 movement being used in these watches is also very positive.

I own the black Dial re-issue Autavia and think it is a great watch. I have read the comments about being too thick, but that is not my experience. For me the Autavia is what the Daytona should be, full size. For the money and wear it is at the top of my chronograph list.

It’s very trendy to say that watches are too big these days. The Autavia doesn’t wear big. Not long ago a total disappointment for me was trying on a Universal “Nina Rindt”. It looked and felt like a small cheap watch, of course there’s a reason for that!

I’m a big fan of all of these Heuer 02 Autavias, and I think this is my favorite among them. My only (small) issue is the printing on the display back, it obscures the view of the cool-looking movement.

Looks good. Appears sold out from link. Agree the signature on back is weak sauce

I spent months dreaming of the Autavia, when I went to pick it up I felt it was lumpy, sat far too high on the wrist, was comically shiny and just looked cheap. But again it’s only one /my opinion. Like anything it’s what works for the individual - what works for many may not work for you.

This looks stunning I suspect the same would apply.

I mean no offence - clearly

I got one, and I love it. It wasn’t easy. They sold out immediately. I was able to buy it from one of the original “100” buyers. My wrist is not very large, but it looks great with short sleeves. It’s a little large for a dress shirt.

I sure am. It’s a fun watch and I love the panda dial.
