Panerai service question
I have a PAM164 since 2004. Need some opinion on service, should I get it done or not. I don't wear the watch too often, apparently no issues with the watch. I am not sure how accurate it is or if the power reserve has gone down. Was quoted close to $600, any parts replacement if need would be additional.
Is it worth it or wait till it stops, also any recommendation in Bay area CA for service. Cheers |

I’d wait until it starts to act up.

sorry to jump in on your thread but does anyone recommend someone in the Chicago area?
Fell during snowstorm, yeah I know dumb move, scratch the bezel and crystal a little and watch has been running slow so figured to just take it in. |

I would wait until it shows signs of needing service.

I think I'd wait until there is some sort of problem. The only other two situations I could think of would be if you plan on getting it wet (it may not pass a pressure test after 14 years) or if you're thinking of selling it.

It's just a Valjoux 7750 movement ... super workhorse auto movement, you can get it serviced anywhere if required and probably cheaper than your quote.
Get an app on your phone to check accuracy if you want a basic check. I bet it is operating within 10 secs or better a day. I wouldn't bother with a service yet unless its way out or operating erratically |
