Opinions on PAM 320 and Cost

Hi, All.

I am trying to decide between a PAM 320 and a Big Pilot. Probably prefer the BP, but the cost difference is making me lean toward the PAM. What are the prevailing thoughts on the PAM 320 these days? Also, how does $6,960 BNIB sound as a price...that is 20% off.

IMO, it's always more expensive to not buy the watch you really want.

You are probably right about that.

The 320 is awesome, but it won’t scratch the BP itch more than a month in your case. We’ve all been there.

This is more good advice. I appreciate it.

A quick search of Chrono24 only, shows several PAM 320 BNIB in the USA for less than $6900.
Another quick Chrono24 only search shows some pre-owned BP starting at ~$8K. In other words, if you are willing to purchase pre-owned, the price difference is not as great as you may think.

Have you tried both watches on? They are fairly different in case size and shape.
Which do you prefer on YOU?

As mentioned by other posters, buy the watch you prefer now as most likely you will buy the watch you prefer eventually.

Get the big pilot. That is the only watch I really regret letting go.

I suppose you cant think about these things in dollars and cents or rationally. You really just have to go with what "sings" to you and if I am honest with myself I know which one that is. Thanks all for helping me put this in the correct light.

Both are great watches but go with the one that you want the most. Not the cheaper

Do you have an IWC or Panerai in your current collection? How do you feel about changing straps? Is the watch to be worn for work with a suit, or more casually? Which BO are you referring to? What other watches are in your collection?

These answers can help guide the conversation a bit. It's always obvious (I hope) that someone will choose what they want, but it's nice to get some perspective; especially from people who have owned these watches.

I have the 1320 and absolutely love it. Same piece, just newer movement and blue second.
