crown question

Hi all, i have notice in some of your photos that you have your crown unwound.
Is there a specific reason for doing this? i.e. when not in use for a long time?

Sorry, if this has been addressed before. I tried a search but could seem to find anything.

I believe this is to show the condition of the crown guards

Often done when photographing a watch to hack the seconds hand.

This is likely the case..

There is no reason to actually leave a crown unscrewed, but it certainly will not hurt the watch either way...
