SD43 hands

Hello all
First time poster. Getting the SD43 in 2 weeks. Will be my first Rolex. Already paid for and AD is holding for me(per my request)until I can travel to their location. Question I have are the hands on the SD43 the exact same size as the previous Sea-Dweller models? The hour hand looks slightly larger in photos- just curious.

Thank you

Russell

That's right. The SD43 hour hand is slightly wider than the SD4000 hour hand. The width of the hour hand is now the same width as the minute hand in the SD43.

The hands on the SD43 are the same as those on the DSSD and GMTc, with the wider hour hand

The Subc and SD40 have the same minute hand, but a thinner hour hand

I have a DSSD, Subc, and GMTc, and the skinny hour hand looks a bit unbalanced relative to the minute hand

I'm not so certain of this.
I have studied the DSSD and the SD43 side by side and to my eye the Hour and Minute hands on the DSSD are fatter than the hands on the SD43.
I could be wrong but speaking specifically about the Minute hand, if the minute hand on the SD43 is longer than it might appear thinner but I don't think this is the case. I definitely think It is slightly thinner on the SD43.

I checked a very good pic on the forum with them together the other day and it confirmed my assessment.

I can't speak of the GMTc because I haven't seen it with the others to compare.

I have read a recent article where the writer wished the hands on the new SD43 were the same size as the 42mm Explorer II. OK, I get it, but for me you run the risk of it not working. I think the SD43 is almost perfect, for me at least. I am still in the honeymoon phase but I am impressed.
