Flip or not?

Good day fellow watchers
I am Kurt
Merlin is my dog

I have a blue dssd in great shape that I wear daily.
Love it

Should I flip for a VERY NICE 2000 gold bluesey? Includes b/p and gold anchor.

Oh and I hand over some dough

Thanks in advance for your professional responses

And yes this is my ONLY watch

Yellow gold is loud. Are you wanting the bling factor? Your DSSD is the bomb. I would keep it and save for the gold bluesy

Thanks
It is the bomb isn't it ?
I am seeing the "gold watch" as a life milestone shall we say.

Maybe I like the idea more then the actual watch.

If you can't wear both, the question really is, will you wear a PM model more than an SS model?

The forum is filled with differing opinions, some people refuse or will never buy a yellow gold model, others have made the decision to always prefer a PM model over SS.

If you would like to have a milestone watch, go for it.

When I was a young man. I saw a man in the fla keys wearing a gold bluesey. It was brilliant. I knew it was expensive and I've never forgotten. Now I'm not so young.

See where I'm going ?
And no I won't collect watches
I wear what I have - I don't have time in my life yet to match my watch to my clothes

Thanks for your responses

That doesn't seem like a good trade for you. You can get older bluesys for 8k easily, but the deep blue dssd holds its value much better and is selling for around 10k used.

They are both great watches. Really depends. Do you want your only watch to be gold? Personally I'm not a fan of the DSSD so I would maybe consider making the trade.

Exactly....going rate on average is 15K or higher for a good example USED old Style PM 18KT Solid...with all the bits. Also...keep your DSSD and save for the PM. YG is loud. I own various references but my daily wear watches are SS. Cheers

Oh you meant the solid gold version. On this forum, when someone says bluesy, it usually refers to the Two Tone 16613

If the urge to have a full gold watch is strong you can't do much better than a YG blue sunburst. I had a DSSD and sold it eventually for a YG Subc. No regrets.

I thought I was being hip throwing the verbiage out
I just assumed a gold bluesey would be construed as an 18kt gold version with a blue dial.

Once again I have put my foot in my mouth.

I think you are fine with calling it a gold bluesy. At least that is my opinion which we all know what that is worth. LOL! And I would make the trade but on the other hand wouldn't hate you if you didn't.

I would not flip it for a 16618, no way. You would be paying cash for losing the glide lock clasp and upgraded bracelet, and putting your money into something that is probably going to depreciate more than the watch you're holding.

Now if we're talking the 116618 like pictured in Neil's photo...different story altogether.

To all the Gold haters....most 97% of the population can't afford to spend $15K+ on a Gold watch. New ones are $36K+.... Gold is Gold. Nothing like a YG Rolex Watch!!!Love my GMT II C YG but I wouldn't wear it everyday. All my Gold Watches I typically wear on the weekends. Not for everyday. I will also say it takes a certain person to be comfortable in wear an all YG Watch.
