Opinions Opinions

Hi Guys

For a while now ive been back and forth between Rolex & AP. Ive been trying on a few pieces and id like to get third party opinions regarding ranking the below pieces "aesthetically". Id also like to receive your opinions on any other aspects you may individually consider that puts one of the pieces as a more preferable option over the others. Assume this is a piece for life, not for resale.

Yellow gold Day Date would be my choice. Yellow gold looks best on your skin tone. The pink gold washes you out, in my opinion. The AP in diamonds, aren't my cup of tea.

I know it's not in the pictures, but a white gold piece I think would be a good option.

Happy hunting!

100% the RG DD for me, love the rarity of the green face, love the dial filling the numerals provide, for me it's leaps and bounds above the other two aesthetically, I think of the 3 it's also by far the classier piece also.

It's actually very much on my radar now!

By far, the Rose Gold Day Date. I'd be willing to bet that the overwhelming majority on here are going to say the same thing.

I vote for the everose day-date, but with a different dial. I've seen it with that olive green, and the green just seems a bit off to me. Of course, that's personal preference, so of the three you've pictured, I'd still do the everose day-date.

The two daydate would be my choice, both are amazing watches
But I prefer the YG Day Date without diamond dial

I'd go for the yellow gold DD but black dial. Has a real classic and sleek look whereas the white dial is probably for someone 50+

Here's what I will tell you and have learned after many years of being here: On this forum you post this question the answer will be overwhelmingly Rolex. If you post in AP section it will be AP. For me it is easy as I never have problem picking between watches and if I did then I wasn't ready to make a decision. They are all different and hopefully one will sing to you more than the other - so follow your heart! Everyone has different taste so whatever we think could be far different what you think. All nice watches pick the one you want the most and call it a day!

Spot on!
Now if asking MY personal choice - DD40 green dial without a doubt. And Rolex and AP are far and away my two favorite brands.

well quite an overwhelming preference for the RG DD40.

Also quite important, the comment that says "If i have a problem picking then im not ready to make a decision".

interesting because i didnt feel that the RG DD went well with my skin tone.

The YG looks good on you. Why not try the DD40 in YG or even White Gold?

Good luck deciding

Im lined up to do just that.

Hopefully by end of month i will have tried the DD40 YG.

Will keep this thread going or start another once i have updates. Theoretically, once i try on "the one", there should be no question and the thread should change to "incoming".

RG DD... Love that dial, and not a fan of diamonds or yellow gold.

Haha well, i can see how that works out just fine. That would be nice. I plan on having just one notable piece that will last a lifetime. This is going to be in rotation and probably worn once a week for the most part. So i need to be a little more cautious making my decision.

This answer is based on how I think they "look" on you, nothing else. Overwhelmingly to my eyes the Everrose DD is the winner! That everrose really looks amazing on you! Not to mention what an amazing watch it is.
I don't like the all yellow gold for you. The Bottom AP in the pic by itself looks very nice on you so I'd pick that second

⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️Agree, at this level of $ spent, take your time and pick what YOU WANT. I've often looked to the forum and asked for opinions, which is always helpful, and insightful. Sometimes I've gone with the popular opinion, many times, I haven't. You'll see MANY different opinions and personal tastes. In the end you've got to be happy when you look at your wrist, not happy that you went with popular opinion! Enjoy the process.

The process continues! I understand that the only opinion that really matters in the end is mine. It is however interesting to get other peoples opinions and consider those to in making the best informed choice. That being said... I didnt think that the RG DD would be a favourite at all, but its the overwhelming favourite.
