imo, the sub-c is too shiny for the rugged/vintage look leather offers.

In fact I would rarely if ever take it off the rubber or sailcloth in order to preserve the bracelet's condition.
+1

I'm literally getting a RubberB or leather for mine for that exact reason, even though no PCL's I'll still want to keep it pristine. Will never ever sell it as it'll be my first Rolex but the rubber is more versatile for my line of work. Plus the clasp I've been told can have the scratches polished out of it at service?.....

I put an Everest strap on my GMT yesterday and really like the look enough to order a black one for my 114060.

If the owner likes it then why not. My14060 occasionally get leather Nato. I like the smaller 5 and 4 digit subs anyway especially with lugholes!!! It makes switching much simpler.

Like wearing 'flip-flops' (or Birkenstocks) with a business suit.

I find that straps are much harder to pair with the C models. Most don't work, but when you find the right one, you have something special.

I personally like them much better on the bracelet.

I like the look, but to be honest I think it affects the functionality of the watch.
