Rolex SubC vs ?
I am looking to pick up a new Rolex SubC next year and just wondered if there was anything else in this price range (£6250) either new or preowned that anyone would recommend as a worthy contender?
This will be a 30th birthday watch and my first luxury watch. These pictures are from where I tried on a preowned SubC and I can't stop looking at them.....

Hi there, background...... I got into rolexes 2 years ago and I have bought and sold so many since! I am currenlty wearing my Sub-C date and it is an amazing watch. The old Sub's are lighter and slightly slimmer but there are plenty of people who dont like the bracelets and clasps. I am selling my sub 2003 no date at the moment. it is the comfiest watch, but i just like the idea of new watches. I also have the GMT 2 Pepsi 2007 and it is the comfiest watch i have ever worn. It doesnt have the glide lick of the Sub c for fine tuning. But it is light with a great thin clasp. But for me it is a weekender with the colours. Depends what style you want, when you were it (always hopefully) and what you like. I am getting a datejust 41mm this week hence the sale of the sub, and they are amazing to wear. Let me know your thoughts and ill let you know what i think.

Rolex SubC vs ?
GMT master II black ceramic is a stunning piece as well. Very close to the sub but with added functionality of 3 time zones simultaneously and an additional hype of luxury compared to the sub. At the end, you should chose one of the 2. Both great, but I went to the GMT and didn't regret it even after 7 years of usage.

FYI that is a SubDateC Lawler and is the classic Rolex new model or old.
SubC has no date. Try them all on for size and one will choose you.

It looks great on you. You could also consider the 116610LV and 166710LN and 166710BLNR. Be mindful of availability and price rise down the line.

If you travel, especially Internationally, the GMT watches are useful. I prefer the blue/black model (BLNR). My BLNR slides under the cuff of a dress shirt as do my two 36mm Rolex watches, DayDate and DateJust. Unfortunately, the bigger Rolex dive watches do not.
The Submariner is a wonderful watch and will be my birthday present if I can convince my wife I really need it. |

I love my Y series GMT-II. You can't go wrong with a GMT if you cross time zones at least occasionally.

Try them both on. I love the look of the new GMT, however the center links are polished. Its preference but i dont like that so the Sub C Date works for me and an old GMT master2.
