Wanted to like the watch....certainly more than the sd43.....but at the end of the day my slightly smaller than 6.5" wrist just looks like a stick with these pieces. The skydweller wears better for sure compared to new sd43....just nowhere near as sleek/good looking as a Daytona/other 40mm as Rolex for me. Still too thick and busy for me. Very photogenic though in this thread and others, congrats op.

Whilst the hype was all around the blue dial, after seeing both, would also choose the black

Congratulations, great watch

TBH Adam if you can wear a Platona I think you can this. We'll get an AP 44 on you yet.

Congrats Sammy, on seizing the day and the black dial, I think I would go for that one now as I'm covered for blue.

That is a great story. And the sky dweller looks great on you - the Daytona fits you perfectly

Neil, the AP divers at 42 look huge on me even. I'm closer to 15450 than upsizing. That said, waiting on a diver, roo, ro chrono to be 39/4O and I'm back in to the brand. 44 like yours, just not in the cards for me. As much as I'd like to own one.

Great story and very envious as we are still waiting for this release our side of the big pond.

I have spoken today with my AD and confirmed I would consider Blue or Black dial options..

Here's hoping I'll get it before any price increase.

This is how AD visits should go....thanks for the report.

Visit an AD....see a reference you that you like after trying on..

Slap the cash down.

Wear and enjoy!

None of this silly bruised ego nonsense about diet cokes being the right temp and whether the SA rolled out the red carpet once you opened the door.

This is the way you do it..

I think it actually looks just slightly bigger than your Daytona. Looks good on you.

I've got a black myself. And I'm liking it more daily.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words. My father actually surprised me and flew in to Honolulu yesterday for my birthday to spend a week back home here, so I am showing him the SS SkyDweller now.

Yep totally, all that matters to me is I get the watch I want....you'll like my AD "extra" that came with this purchase. Guess what I got with my purchase aside from just the green Rolex bag, watch, box and accessories, and sales receipt?

A used, take-out bag from the SA's co-worker's lunch... No joke

Since I had to walk downtown through a not-so-nice part of town after the purchase to make a dinner, I wasn't keen on just waving this green Rolex bag around. I asked the SA for the most inconspicuous bag possible please, and that was what he returned with!!! I said that is bloody perfect!

Most expensive sandwich I've ever bought

Thanks Seth. The black dial is really just freaking awesome, congrats on yours and glad to see you are liking it. It's a great combo with your DJ 41.

I really just love the black dial.... can't say it enough. It is so cool how it's black, but then turns grey and rhodium-like in the lighting. Just works so well with the watch design for everyday wear.

He's trying it on now.... he's torn!! He's owned two GMT2Cs because he regretted letting go of his first one and he's worried he'd regret letting his GMT go again.

Great thread. I would go with the black dial of the three. Man that watch looks really good in those pictures. If I try this watch on in the AD I will be in big trouble. . .
