I heard from my AD any day now..they may get a Fed Ex package with the new pricing structure this afternoon. I heard 6% on the SS sport models.

I'm pretty sure something will happen & be in effect by Oct 15th.

Nobody actually knows for sure until it happens.

That is by far the cheapest rumor of increase I've heard up till this point for SS models. Other countries (like NZ) have already seen the price increase, and they are saying 12% on SS sports models. I've been hearing 12-15% from more than one dealer, and other enthusiasts.

Price increase already in effect here from Monday. SS Sub-date up NZ$600, around 7%. Some models less, some more.....but an increase nevertheless!!

My AD took one look at my Subby on my wrist and said just hang on to that baby, JJ....you won't lose on that one.....at least not at the price I paid for it in Feb. of this year!!

Was at the AD yesterday looking at rings with the wife. They said they're expecting the change to be in effect on the 15th. They didn't know the %, but said to expect around 10% on the Professional series.

He is obviously scared the flipper will strike again....

We have to ask why such a huge rise this year. Its way above the rate of inflation. Yeah OK it could be profit induced but I've got a feeling Rolex are investing in new technology. We will start to see more ceramic bezels, solid bracelets and clasps I think over the coming years. Obviously it costs more for the materials and machines, not to mention the R&D. Who knows?

I think the US prices are now getting a little more in line with the Canadian market
I don't think our prices changed much this round. But not positive. Will check with my AD tomorrow.

I'm hoping this price increase was US only, or North America only, and deals can still be had elsewhere.

I'll be in Qatar in 30 days, if I have no luck there I will see about stopping by NZ as well. What, no duty free shops at the airport?

As far as watches go, Duty Free shops at Auckland International Airport suck!!!

I'll help you buy the watch from Mansor's at a very good price and you then pick it up at the airport on your way out - TAX FREE!!!

What JJ is talking about is the sales tax or GST on the purchased item, however when you do come back into Australia and if you do declare it then you pay Australian GST and duties, which can get very expensive.

The other option is not to declare it and take a chance, simply wear no watch over and wear the new one back.May be even post the empty box back to yourself.

Just don't look guilty leaving as the sniffer sheep in NZ are baaad. The Australian customs might be a different story.
