Sounds like by the end of this excercise you will hide both a second watch and a mistress from the wife! Jk. Maybe.

But if it’s a serious push, then consolidate down to a PM version of either.

One more slightly productive comment, if older eyesight, then Pepsi. If still young, then Daytona and can enjoy it longer before completely illegible.

Daytona is a keeper. If you think otherwise, PM me because I'm in the market.

Geez - follow up question. Do you only have two watches or are there others?

Unless the family, which comes first, is in need of the money, I would have a polite conversation and say no.

IF push is coming to shove I'd keep whatever best suits your wardrobe AND serves as a functional piece. IE: If you're a cook and you need to time things, keep the Daytona, if you're traveling then keep the Pepsi.

What a nightmare...good luck to you bud.

For a one and only I need a date...that plus the dial on the Pepsi is easier to read tip the scales in favor of the BLRO.

This. Or, tell the wife she needs to consolidate to one purse, one dress, and one pair of shoes.

As a serious answer, I'd probably stick with the Daytona since the GMT is easier to replace at MSRP.

Which watch I would probably keep and want to keep: the Daytona.

Which watch is better overall for a one watch collection: the BLRO.

I would keep both though. Don't let your wife dictate all your actions. None of this happy wife, happy life type of BS. You deserve happiness too. Tell your wife to only own one handbag and see what she says in response.

The watches increase in value. They are cheap to maintain. They offer pleasure every minute of every day. They are reliable.

Wives on the other hand...

Between the two references, keep the 126710BLRO. I think it's more appropriate to have a modern GMT. Sell the 116500LN to make your wife happy-

-and then the very next day, go get yourself a vintage Daytona and tell her she's fortunate to have a guy who's content with only two Rolexes.

I would keep the Daytona. The BLRO is just a GMT with a different bezel.

Anyone can find a wife in a matter of months. Same can’t be said for these watches.

Sell the Daytona. Pepsi is more versatile.

Depends, is there a good reason why she thinks you need to consolidate to one Rolex? If you need money for something important (family member sick, buying a house, etc.) and this is the best way for you to get that money, sure, do it, sell one. If not, try reason with her and keep both since there's no good reason for you to sell one. Now if this isn't an option and you must sell, it depends on what other watches you have? Do you have other GMTs? Other chronos? Which one do you like more? GMT is my favorite complication as it includes date, 24 hand you can set to UTC and 24h rotating bezel to set to any timezone you want. So I'd keep the Pepsi, although if you like Daytona more, you should keep it.
