<<< WW2 buffs >>>
I thought some of you folks might be interested in some history and the Zero West watch brand.
I really enjoyed this episode of The Timeless Watch Channel. He does a wonderful job of dovetailing the two topics together. https://youtu.be/3TaxcoSoUYE EDIT: Paul G if you’re seeing this before any of the mods … perhaps you could get the You Tube link to show for me. I tried whatever it was you suggested in the past, but can’t seem to get it to work |

They truly are the greatest generation. I can’t imagine being only 19 years old and flying air missions over Britain. |

I’ve got a flight log and pilots reference map from a gunner on an SBD 2 that fought at Guadalcanal. Some of the passages are just incredible. “Spotted sub, sank by DD” among many others describing their action over 6 months. He was given this log to keep for his combat record and a new log started. On the pilots reference map that was folded in the back there is a line drawn in showing the line of aerial supremacy in Oct 1943. I couldn’t imagine the fight those guys had, from the beaches of Normandy, the deserts of Africa and the volcanic islands in the South Pacific. My grandfather passed away before I was born but he was a surgeon on a hospital ship outside of Iwo. Its incredibly humbling and motivating to imagine the heroism he witnessed every day in those men’s faces and bodies. May God bless every single one of them, for if not for them the world would be a much different place today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don’t know, but I’m sure tempted to buy one of these watches if nothing else, as a reminder of just how fortunate we are. |

I am thinking the exact same thing. A piece of that history will live on every day it’s on anyone that knows wrist. The minute we stop remembering the sacrifices of the men and women that have lost their lives fighting for a better world is when they truly die. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
