Vintage Sub Condition
Hi all,
Please let me know your thoughts on the case condition of the below 1680, 1-10. Always appreciate any insight and feedback on the dial, bezel, hands etc. |

1-10?
I would rate it at a 7.27543886 to be exact. |

It was poorly polished in the past and has “roly poly” lugs as a result.

Looking at these, the best strategy is to find a NOS one for sale. Then you can compare. I did this when I was looking at a 16710.
Realised how the polishing had been done, and now... I am GMT less. I'd rather wait than jump on something that will be hard to resell. |

Otherwise appears to be a nice example, but the bezel pearl looks a bit odd. Has it been replaced? Seems to be missing the little plastic ring around the pearl, although perhaps it's just the lighting. |

I see a decent original watch. Of course it has been polished - almost all vintage watches were refinished in the past - or polished if you prefer - at some point.
I'd give it a 7 to 7.5 and rate the complete watch above average condition based on its age.

It can always be restored at a later date All depending on the price |

Appreciate all of the insight, this is my first vintage and have been doing some serious homework. The only thing that is working against me is that I have never personally handled a vintage sub, so I have nothing really to compare it to. This is why I come to the experts!!

Looks correct to me. Lugs are still thick even patina, still has the pearl. If you like the price this is a piece you'll enjoy and not stress about wearing every day.
