I would pay extra....but they should come that way to start with. Between the wife and I we currently have 4 watches and they are all very close to being upright.

I admit it does bother me so I'd pay maybe... £2K but not a penny more.

I wonder if the people at Rolex email each other these kinds of threads around to provide a little comic relief to their sometimes tedious lives.

I'd much prefer them to line up and a crown that is upside down looks bad to me. I would consider not buying a watch if the crown was completely upside down. I wouldn't think twice about paying a few hundred more for one perfectly aligned. It's a rolex what's 200.

Laugh out loud. Not a single penny. But I'm sure there's a fool somewhere looking to be parted from his money.

All crowns can be upright if you want them too, just don't go swimming

They already have, currently available on the Sky-Dweller...

Ever see a car/wheel manufacturer advertise with the center cap or logo upside down?
It won't stay like that once in use. (Unless you own a RR of course)

Absolutely not the same thing. The crown is a precision machined element. I know people on here love Rolex so much that they can do no wrong in their eyes, but maybe Rolex could use their engineering prowess to fix it. They solved the bezel "problem" by going ceramic.

Mine is upright when I hold my watch upside down...so therefore I would pay 0. I have the best of both worlds...

On the contrary do you they block this stuff at Rolex to not distract their product people from their product vision and strategy? Does rolex really listen to its customer when it comes to product development? I ask sincerely because I have no knowledge on the topic...

A lot of people are giving the OP a hard time, but when I got my first Rolex it surprised me that the crown did not align exactly face up when screwed in. I was also surprised by the fact that the "LLY" in "OFFICIALLY" on the dial were slightly lower than the other letters in the line.

Neither of these detract from my enjoyment of my Explorer, but I would have thought there'd be a little more QC and/or attention to details like these on a $6k+ watch. For a lot of people, buying a Rolex is a significant amount of money and something they have dreamed about for a long time, and their expectations may not be in line with the reality.

I hear Rolex is releasing all new models at Basel 2016 with perfect crown alignment. Retail price is only expected to increase 20% for this absolute necessity.

These watches cost a small fortune, they should come with the crown symbol perfectly upright when screwed in. The fact we're even debating about giving a premium for what should exist by default is ridiculous.

Nothing whatsoever only time I ever look at winding crown is when winding and know matter what position the emblem was would only be seen with owners who have OCD.
